Beau JordanSentryWorld: A Must-Play Golf Course in Wisconsin
SentryWorld, found in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, is a must-visit destination for all golfers. Designed by architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 1982, it holds the distinction of being Wisconsin's first destination golf course. The course is celebrated for its signature "Flower Hole," the par-three 16th, encircled by thousands of vibrant blooms, offering a unique and stunning challenge to golfers. SentryWorld has garnered national recognition, ranking #52 in Golf Digest's 2023 list of "America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses." In 2023, it hosted the U.S. Senior Open Championship, further cementing its status as a top-tier golfing destination.
Why SentryWorld is One of the Best Golf Courses in Wisconsin
Our experience at SentryWorld is unlike any other golf experience that we have had. The entire property is elite, and the golf course is pristine. Prior to teeing off, we grabbed some drone footage of the course and we have never seen that many maintenance workers on a course at the same time. It was legitimately every hole, and multiple workers on each hole. SentryWorld takes pride in that sentiment, claiming that this course is as nice as any you will find in the world. Having played it multiple times, we can attest to it being the best-manicured course that we have ever played.
Premium Golf Amenities: What Makes SentryWorld Unique?
A couple of other things that we loved about the SentryWorld experience is that tee times are spread 20 minutes apart. This makes it feel like you are the only ones there. This is done for a few reasons, but one is so that everyone has time to stop at the multiple Refreshment Stations found throughout the course that provide players unlimited food and drink (unlimited alcohol is included too). We are telling you, this is something you just have to experience. It’s nothing like anything we have experienced.
How Much Does It Cost to Play SentryWorld?
To summarize, your round at SentryWorld will cost you $350, but that fee covers a lot more than just your tee time. This is an all-inclusive experience that provides you the below for that fee:
- 18 holes at the SentryWorld Golf Course
- 20-minute spaced tee times (you’ll feel like you’re the only ones out there)
- Unlimited food and drink (including alcohol) at the refreshment stations
- Unlimited practice balls
When to Play SentryWorld: Best Time to Book Your Round
